WP-CLI commands

Every wp kanbanwp command in KanbanWP with its flags: manage boards and tasks, import from Trello, CSV or JSON, export a board, and check AI usage.

KanbanWP registers the wp kanbanwp command group when WP-CLI is available. Commands run with full access to the site and perform no capability checks, so only run them as a trusted server user. Add --user=<login> if you want records attributed to a specific WordPress user.

Boards

wp kanbanwp board list [--format=<format>]
wp kanbanwp board create --name=<name> [--template=<key>] [--description=<text>]
wp kanbanwp board delete <id> [--yes]
wp kanbanwp board duplicate <id> --name=<name>
  • list prints id, name, a short description and the created date. --format accepts the usual WP-CLI formats such as table, json, csv and yaml. The default is table.
  • create prints the new board ID. Without --template, the board is created with no template applied.
  • delete removes the board and all its tasks. It asks for confirmation unless you pass --yes.
  • duplicate copies a board, including its stages, labels and tasks, under the new name.

Tasks

wp kanbanwp task list --board=<id> [--stage=<id>] [--format=<format>]
wp kanbanwp task create --board=<id> --title=<title> [--stage=<id>] [--priority=<p>] [--assignee=<id>] [--due=<Y-m-d>]
wp kanbanwp task update <id> [--title=<title>] [--priority=<p>] [--due=<Y-m-d>] [--stage=<id>]
wp kanbanwp task move <id> --stage=<id> [--position=<n>]
wp kanbanwp task delete <id> [--yes]
  • create defaults to the board’s first stage and to normal priority. Priorities are low, normal, high and urgent. --assignee takes one WordPress user ID.
  • update needs at least one of the four flags, otherwise it exits with an error.
  • move changes the stage and optionally the position inside it.
  • delete asks for confirmation unless you pass --yes.

Import

wp kanbanwp import trello --file=<path> [--board-name=<name>]
wp kanbanwp import csv --file=<path> [--board-name=<name>]
wp kanbanwp import json --file=<path> [--board-name=<name>]
wp kanbanwp import legacy [--dry-run]

The first three read a file on the server and print the new board ID. json expects a KanbanWP JSON export. legacy imports data from the previous plugin’s tables. Use --dry-run to print a table of the boards, stages and tasks it would bring in without writing anything. See Importing from Trello and Importing from the previous plugin.

Export

wp kanbanwp export board <id> [--file=<path>]

Writes the board as JSON. Without --file, the JSON is printed to standard output, so you can redirect it.

AI usage

wp kanbanwp ai usage [--user=<id>] [--format=<format>]

Shows the 100 most recent logged AI calls: user, board, feature, provider, model, tokens in and out, and date. Pass --user to limit it to one user. A final line reports the monthly token cap, or says it is unlimited. See Usage and limits.

Good to know

  • The CLI works with the data models directly. Task and comment hooks such as kanbanwp_task_created are fired by the REST API, so commands like task create do not trigger them, and webhooks that depend on them do not fire either. If you need events, use the REST API.
  • Run the commands inside the site root, or pass --path=<wordpress path>.
