KanbanWP can bring boards in from other tools and send a board out as a backup or a copy. Everything is on one screen: KanbanWP > Import / Export. You need the KanbanWP manage permission.
What you can import

Each upload card has an optional New board title field and an Upload & import button. Imports always create a new board, so they never overwrite or merge into an existing one. When the import finishes, a notice reports how many stages and tasks were created and gives the new board ID.
Import a CSV
Your CSV needs a header row with a title column. Other recognized columns are description, stage, priority, assignee, due_date, start_date, labels and swimlane. Extra columns are ignored, and header names are not case sensitive.
- Rows without a title are skipped.
- A stage name that does not exist yet is created. With no stage, tasks go to a stage called To Do.
- Priority must be
low,normal,highorurgent. Anything else becomesnormal. - An assignee is matched to a WordPress user by username first, then by email address.
- Dates in most common formats are accepted and stored as year-month-day.
- Labels can be separated with a pipe or a comma, and are created on the new board.
Export a board
The Export section has a Board picker and a Download JSON button. The file contains the board, its stages, tasks with their comments, labels, members and your saved views. Member email addresses are left out. If you cannot see internal tasks and comments on that board, those are left out too.
A JSON export is the format the KanbanWP JSON importer reads, so you can use it to:
- keep a backup before a big cleanup,
- clone a board to start a similar project,
- move a board to another WordPress site running KanbanWP.
On the destination site, old stage, task and label IDs are remapped to the new records. Members are added back only if a matching user still exists there.
Exports are JSON only. The Reports screen offers a separate CSV download of board statistics, which is not a task export. Attachment files themselves are not packaged in an export.
