Checklists and attachments live in the task detail panel. Both are useful for work that has small steps or supporting files.
Checklists
A checklist is a simple list of items you can tick off. Each task has one checklist.
Add items
- Open the task.
- Under Checklist, type in the “Add an item…” box.
- Select Add, or press Enter.
Work through the list
Tick the box beside an item to mark it done. The section heading shows how many are complete, such as 2/5, and a progress bar fills as you go. Select the × beside an item to remove it.
If you can only view the board, the checklist is read-only.
Checklists and recurring tasks
When a recurring task creates its next copy, the copy’s checklist items are all reset to not done. That makes a checklist a good template for repeated work.
Attachments
Attachments come from the WordPress media library.
- Open the task.
- Under Attachments, select Add attachment.
- Choose one or more files in the media library, or upload new ones there, and confirm.
Each attachment shows as a link with its file name. Select it to open the file in a new tab. Select Remove to detach it. Removing an attachment from a task doesn’t delete the file from your media library.
Requirements
Attachments need the WordPress media library, so they are available where the library loads. Where it isn’t available, KanbanWP shows “Media library is not available here.” Attaching files needs permission to edit the task.
Cover images
You can also pick a cover image for a card in the Cover image section. It displays on the card itself. It is separate from attachments.
