All plugin-wide options live on one screen: KanbanWP → Settings in the WordPress admin. The screen has seven tabs. Each tab saves on its own, so changes on one tab never overwrite another.
Only users with the kanbanwp_manage capability can open the screen. WordPress grants it to the Administrator role when the plugin is activated. See Permissions and roles for how this differs from per-board roles.
What lives on each tab
| Tab | What it controls |
|---|---|
| General | Default board template, default WIP limit for new stages, and whether boards can be shared by public link. |
| AI | Provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint), API key, model, a per-user monthly token cap, and which WordPress roles may use AI. Includes a Test connection button. |
| AI Prompts | Your own style preferences (tone, language, length) for each AI feature, plus one box that applies to all of them. |
| Notifications | Email notifications, digest frequency and time, Slack and Discord webhook URLs, and which events notify people. |
| MCP | Turns the MCP server on or off and shows the bearer token that AI agents use. |
| Integrations | Maps new WooCommerce orders and products to a board and stage. |
| Data | A JSON export of all plugin data, and the option to delete everything when the plugin is uninstalled. |
The General tab is covered in General settings. The Data tab, plus the less obvious options on the AI and MCP tabs, are covered in Advanced settings. AI setup has its own pages: Providers and keys and Usage and limits.

Things to know
- Saving a tab redirects back to the same tab with a confirmation notice.
- The API key field is never filled in after saving. Leaving it empty keeps the saved key.
- Board-level options, such as labels, members and stages, are set on the board itself and not on this screen.
- The client portal is on by default and has no switch on the Settings screen.
